BILL FRISELL TRIO (USA)
f/ Thomas Morgan & Rudy Royston

Mesmerising, elegant and electric, multi - Grammy Award®-winning jazz guitarist Bill Frisell returns to Adelaide for this rare intimate club gig at The Gov.

For over 40 years, the extraordinarily original and prolific Bill Frisell has been a seminal figure in modern American music. From jazz, bluegrass, country, rock and roll, to folk, interwoven with metamorphic splendor with bursts of the avant-garde, Frisell’s sound traverses the sweep of contemporary American musical history, whilst always maintaining a uniquely identifiable sound.

Joined by two of most in-demand jazz musicians on the international scene - Thomas Morgan (bass), and Rudy Royston (drums), this concert features music form the trio’s recent Blue Note album Valentine - rated a modern ‘masterpiece’ by DownBeat magazine.

Don’t miss this iconic voice in music delivering big-sky grooves with one of jazz’s most deeply interactive trios.

“(the Trio’s performance was…) a masterclass in empathy, interplay, understatement, dynamics, and all aspects of musicality and imagination”

“Even though the selections on Valentine hail from a range of styles the performances represent jazz playing at its most sublime.”
